What are CPD Points?
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. By law, it is a requirement of NSW Fair Trading for all licensed builders and pool builders to acquire 12 CPD Points per year in order to maintain a valid building licence. CPD training is a way for builders to demonstrate that they continue to learn and develop skills that enable them to work safely, legally and effectively.
However, the purpose of CPD training is not just about earning compulsory points, but to ensure builders acquire ongoing information and keep up to date with new products and developments within the building and construction industry, many of which may save them precious time and money in the future.
Once you receive your downloadable Certificate of Completion from Building CPD, you are able to provide this information directly to NSW Fair Trading as verification of your ongoing CPD training obligations.
Are we a Registered Training Organisation (or RTO)? No, nor are we required to be, as long as we deliver CPD Courses in accordance with the NSW Fair Trading Director-General’s Guidelines for online CPD Points. Please visit NSW Fair Trading for more information.
CPD Points earned through Building CPD will also fulfil your obligations in VICTORIA (Victorian Building Authority).
